Today we visited with Willy Barreno from Cafe Red. He talked to us about Mayan spirituality and culture. Cafe Red is an organization that is open to all people, and welcomes diversity. They have a cooking school within the cafe that aims to teach skills that people can use in Guatemala, and therefore prevents them from migrating to the US. He allowed us to understand a differnt perspective of migration based on his personal experiences. The cafe was also filled with beautiful murals, pictured below.Â
