After a very busy day on Tuesday, we had the amazing opportunity to stay at the homes of Guatemalan families. We started of by visiting Corazón de mujer, The Heart of Women, which is an organization of 15 women (we would later be at their houses). They all have stories of hardship, pain, and perseverance. Their lives have not been easy, but they have found hope and love in each other. The organization is their job. They all have taught each other how to do these beautiful weavings, some pictured below. They work together to empower women. Queens has been visiting for 18 years! Dr. Mowrey recognized some of the children who are all grown up now. After we met with them, we were split into groups and rode the bus to our groups house. We spent the night practicing our Spanish, sharing our families, playing games, and eating some amazingly delicious food. Their hospitality and graciousness cannot be put into words. We were all grateful for the experience. It is definitely one none of us will forget. Our hearts are so full.
